Period Poverty has far reaching consequences globally, affecting millions of women globally in profound ways.  It leads to absenteeism from school and work, perpetuating cycles of poverty and limiting economic opportunities.  Inadequate menstrual hygiene also poses significant health risks, including reproductive tract infections and infertility.  Furthermore, period poverty exacerbates gender inequality, reinforcing harmful gender stereotypes and stigmatizing menstruation.  The effects are felt across various aspects of life, from education and employment to health and well-being, making it a pressing issue that requires urgent attention and collective action to address.  By tackling period poverty, we can empower individuals, promote gender equality and unlock greater potential for communities worldwide.
